People meet in self-help groups to support one another with health, mental and social problems. Information and experiences are exchanged in discussions about illness (e.g. diabetes, rheumatism, depression) or difficult life situations (e.g. relationship problems, illness in the family). Self-help means: learning from one another, developing new ideas and supporting one another. The BAG SELBSTHILFE is the head organization of around 120 self-help organizations in Germany.
If you are looking for a self-help group or would you like to establish one - even in your native language - ask the member organizations.
